Nova tech 2 Review

The second Nova Tech meet of the year has come and gone. Thank you to all the SWAT volunteers that helped make the meet run smoothly and quickly. Hopefully we can count on you in the future for other SWAT hosted meets in the new year. 37 SWAT swimmers took to the lanes at Centennial pool on November 30th to wrap up the month. Collectively the squad earned 48 Best times and 48 new events. We also had 2 AA cuts made, and one swimmer has made the move from level 1 to level 2.

Novice sent 8 representatives to the meet. They bettered 11 times and swam 9 races for the first time; most of them the 100 Fly. Isaiah had two best times and 1 new event. He dropped 37 seconds off his 100 IM time from the end of last year and reached the AA standard in the event. He just needs to add the 200 Free cut to be fully qualified for AA Age Group competition. Kayden also made one of his AA standards in the 200 Free dropping 21 seconds in the event. He also swam 1 new event at NT2. Maanya was perfect with 3 new personal bests. She dropped 15 seconds off her 100 IM sliding from level 1 up to level 2. Sophia had 2 best times and 1 new event. She bettered her old 50 Breaststroke time by 4 seconds and swam her 100 Back under 2:00 for the first time. Mylee was also 2 PBs and 1 new event. She just missed the 200 Free AA cut after dropping 21 seconds in the event. Camden same his first 100 Back and his first 100 Fly ever. Matt was under 1:00 for the first time in the 50 Breaststroke and 1 new event. Angel continues to fill out her SWAT event list with 3 new swims for the club and inched closer to a AA cut in the 200 Free.

Tidalwaves added 12 swimmers to the group. All told they earned 21 new personal bests and 7 new swims. Alex B had 2 best times and 1 new event highlighted by a 2 second improvement in the 50 Breaststroke. Patricia made her racing debut with three new swims. Londyn was a perfect 3 for 3 with her biggest improvement a 7 second drop in the 50 Butterfly. Marshall was also 3 for 3 and his 50 fly was also his highlight cutting 4 seconds off his previous best time. Alex E got himself 2 best times. He cut 16 seconds off his old 50 Fly and swam his 50 Back under 1:00 for the first time. Liam swam to 2 best times and lowered his 50 Fly by 7 seconds. Victoria opened her racing account with 3 new events. Freddy removed a second from his 50 Breaststroke time. Xavier raced to a best time in the 50 Freestyle. Harper removed a massive 17 seconds off her 50 Fly for one of her 2 personal bests. Natalie Gets ever closer to her level 2 100 IM time after cutting 6 seconds off in the event. She took another 6 seconds off her 50 Breaststroke. Lesi rebounded from a tough first NT meet and walked away with 3 best times including matching 6 second improvements in the 100 IM and 50 Breaststroke.

Miniwaves were split between Level 1 and Participation. 17 total Mini swimmers raced to 16 best times and 32 new events. Madeleine raced in her first 3 50m events. Peyton G also raced in her first 3 50m events. Payton H had 2 new 50m events and a best time in the 50 Freestyle after a 12 second drop. In the Participation end of the pool, Beckett starts his racing career with 3 new events. Jackson had 2 best times and 1 new event. He will be testing his 100IM chops int eh New Year to see if he is ready for Level 1 Competition. Miles came away with 1 best time and 2 new events. Henry flips that script with 2 best times and 1 new event. Likewise, Kyle earned 2 personal bests and 1 new event. Edehi begins her 24/25 racing season with 3 new events. Aidan swam to 2 best times and a new event. Leah raced for 1 new best time and 2 new events. Alexa ended the meet with 1 best time and 1 new event. She will also be testing her 100 IM for Level 1 graduation. Charley had a best time and 1 new event. James earned 2 best times and raced in 1 event for the first time. He will be trying the 100 IM in the new year for Level 1 graduation. Mahek opens her 24/25 racing account with 3 new events. River earned 1 best time and swam 1 event for the first time. Colden began his racing career with 3 new events.

That wraps the 2024 racing year for Nova Tech. The Nova Tech series continues in the New Year on Sunday, January 19.
